Tour our beautiful neighborhood --- East Oak Lane!

East Oak Lane neighbors are unified in vocal opposition to plans by Developers and City Councilmember Cherelle Parker to build a 40-unit apartment complex in our Civic Center.  Stand with residents as we demand a say in what is built in our neighborhood!  Click here to watch our video.

Stop the development of a high-density apartment housing at 12th and Oak Lane!

Community members at a Registered Community Organization (RCO) meeting voted overwhelmingly (84%) against this development!

Community objections include concerns about parking and traffic at an intersection that already houses the Oak Lane Library, Ellwood Elementary School, and the Engine 63 Fire Station. With the proposed entrance to the development on 11th Street, this development would also add to traffic currently generated by the Refuge Evangelical Baptist Church, the Oak Lane Presbyterian Church, and the nearby Laurel Square Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.

This is simply not the right location for this project!

The developers have money, resources, and politicians on their side. We’re fighting hard for you but we need your help to level the playing field for legal and professional fees, publicity costs, and materials for protest signs.

All donations not used to oppose this particular project will be used to ensure neighborhood developments happen responsibly and in accordance with what the community wants and needs, or to provide other benefits for the community related to safety, beauty, and quality of life. The OLCAA Board of Directors commits to fulfill the community's wishes rather than their individual concerns.
